This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Review

‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’: latest monsterverse entry is big and dumb. Director Adam Wingard returns to the giant beasts punching each other genre for a movie that follows a predictable pattern of fights and tissue-thin characters.

In theaters on Friday 29th March, ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ continues the Monsterverse saga that has played out across movies such as ‘Godzilla’, ‘Kong: Skull Island’ and Godzilla vs. Kong, the latter directed by Adam Wingard. The filmmaker is back with this new entry, which looks to dive deeper into the Hollow Earth mythology introduced in the versus movie. It's definitely not one for newcomers, stuffed full of continuing story threads, though it doesn’t exactly put storytelling depth ahead of big beasts destroying infrastructure as they do battle.
