Will Nash Biography

Sculptor in a range of materials and graphic artist, son of the artist David Nash, born and brought up in north Wales, who shortly before his show at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea, in 2001, moved to Barcombe, Sussex. For five years prior to the Glynn Vivian exhibition Nash’s work had mainly been on the theme of “man flight.” He also worked with lenses, to make small self-projecting sculptures, “designed to examine the way we are constantly presented with visual information, and how we absorb it.

” Nash did a foundation course at Middlesex University, 1993–4, graduating in multi-media fine art from there, 1994–7. Periodically, he travelled as assistant to his father through Europe and America, in the 1990s; worked with a performing arts group, 1996; was involved in Toggle and Snoggle multi-media groups, involving artists, musicians and designers, with Chocolate Factory Arts Expo, World Dance Ltd, and as an assistant for Linda Fleming and for Garner & Garner on occasions in 1997–8; from 1998 being a self-employed designer and sculptor.

He had a solo show of new work at Cass Sculpture Foundation in 2004.
